Massy brings Christmas cheer to Choiseul
December 19th, 2020
The serene village of Choiseul known for its local arts and crafts, was abuzz with anticipation as fifty-nine (59) community residents received food hampers just in time for Christmas! The food drive is an activity organized by the Choiseul Youth and Sports Council to bring Christmas cheer and ease the burdens of those in need—particularly those affected by unemployment due to COVID-19.
Massy Stores Saint Lucia and Republic Bank partnered with the Choiseul Youth and Sports Council to purchase the hampers. Representatives of both companies were on hand to assist with the distribution of the hampers to residents. Council members lauded the two entities for their lavish support to the community.
Kate St. Martin, President of the Choiseul Youth and Sports Council said solicitations for the food drive at the end of November. She said the activity was needful as many Choiseul residents employed in the hospitality industry have lost their incomes and their ability to provide for their families during the pandemic.
The hamper distribution took place one week following the opening of the new Massy Stores Supermarket in Choiseul.
