Another Massy Stores Supermarket in the South

 Massy Supermarket #10 opened in Choiseul on December 09 in the Daher Plaza. In addition to grocery items, the new supermarket provides pharmacy services, a deli, and ready-to-eat prepared meals.

The new addition is in keeping with the company’s growth strategy and response to the need for more accessible services due to reduced travel guidelines as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The idea is that the residents of Choiseul who want to stay within their community to shop have every reason to. They will now to be able to get what they want in Choiseul, so they don’t have to go anywhere else” explained Managing Director Martin Dorville as he addressed the opening ceremony.

The arrival of Massy Stores to the plaza is encouraging for other business. Owner of the Choiseul Plaza, Mr. Brian Daher, said several businesses have expressed interest in joining Massy Stores Supermarket at the plaza.

“Apart from the Massy Supermarket which we have here today, we just got confirmation that a bank and a fast-food restaurant want to extend the services they provide to Choiseul,” he said, adding: “I think the community is happier now that it has its own supermarket where residents can shop more conveniently, and they don’t have to travel all the way down to the south. In fact, I’m sure we will have people from the south shopping in Choiseul to avoid the congestion in Vieux Fort especially with Christmas coming up.”

Community member, Mr. Brian Inglis, expressed appreciation for the new community supermarket which, he said, reduces travel costs.

“I appreciate having a Massy Supermarket close by because the money that I would have used for transportation to get to the supermarket, I can now put toward my groceries,” he said.

In addition to its retail operations, Massy Stores Supermarkets provide several complementary services including mobile phone top-ups, SurePay electronic bill payments, lotto tickets, gift vouchers and Massy Rewards Cards. Bank of Saint Lucia Quick Cash ATM Machines are also available at all Massy Stores Supermarkets.

Customers unable to shop in person can arrange for curbside pickup or can request to have groceries delivered via a third-party delivery service provider, improving customer convenience, and saving time.
