This person will provide prompt, friendly, reliable service and assistance to customers at the checkout stand, creating a unique and satisfying shopping experience that will exceed their expectations.
This person will provide friendly, courteous and helpful service and assistance to customers at the checkout stand, bag groceries, provide carryout service of customers purchases.
This person will provide quality customer service by maintaining and operating the Delicatessen Department in an efficient manner within store policies. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position is essential to achieve and maintain healthful, sanitary, and suitable shopping conditions.
This person will provide quality customer service by keeping grocery items stocked throughout the grocery department. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of suitable shopping conditions.
This person will provide quality customer service by keeping wrapping, packaging, and price-marking meat and related products as prescribed by the store and department standards; to execute functions in an efficient manner within store policies.
This person will provide quality customer service by cutting meat and preparing related products in the variety, size, quality, and trim prescribed by the store and department standards to execute functions in an efficient manner within store policies.
This person will provide quality customer service by maintaining and operating the produce department including the trimming and preparation of the merchandise according to store and department standards. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of suitable shopping conditions.
This person will provide quality service to the Grocery/HBC departments by keeping items received in an organized manner in the back store/warehouse. Assist some departments on stocking goods on shelves so as to provide a suitable shopping condition for our customers.
This person will provide quality customer service by maintaining a clean store/location facility. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position is essential to achieve and maintain healthy, sanitary, and suitable shopping conditions.
This Person will pull goods in an accurately and timely manner based on what the locations order and place them onto pallets which will then be loaded onto trucks. This person has the full responsibility to take note of items close to expiry date and take necessary action. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities within this post will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of goods sent to the stores, along with the contribution to sales, profits and management of shrink.

Life/Health Insurance – Employer/employee contributory.
Health Insurance – Medical, Optical and Dental coverage within the plan with various respective limits. Coverage applies to both the employee and dependents of the employee, that is, spouse and children.
Compassionate leave – The company provides regular, full-time staff members with a bereavement leave of absence to arrange and attend a funeral and to see to the affairs of the estate of a deceased member of her or his immediate family.

Staff incentive shares scheme – Team members over three years of continuous service have the opportunity to purchase company shares.
Staff Loans – This staff loan provision is available to team members with over one year of continuous service, and whose conduct and job performance are in good standing.

Recognizing the constant need for Training, Massy Stores (SLU) Ltd opened up the doors of its own training institute in 2005. Our employees gain in house training in the form of lectures, online courses, and on the job training where they get a full grasp and understanding of their job and its importance.The following are a few of the programmes being offered by the Training Institute.
Orientation – This is a three- day programme where new team members are inducted into the company and are privy to company information, rules and regulations, company philosophy, customer service training, health and safety, introduction to food and health, shrink management and supermarket safety.
Supervision Series – New Supervisor programmes as well as other Supervisory Programmes are held yearly to ensure the consistent development of our supervisors.
High Potential Employees Programme – A+ performers are chosen using a criteria list. These candidates must then successfully complete an eighteen-month programme which focuses on different leadership skills and competencies. At the end of the programme these employees may be considered for promotional opportunities.
Manager’s Development Programme –This programme is designed with the aim of ensuring that managers gain a skill set of leadership and selected competency skills. This is a three-part program which can be completed over a period of five years.

Human Resource, Health & Safety, Training Department
This department is responsible for finding, screening, recruiting, and training job applicants, and administering employee-benefit programs. HR plays a key role in helping companies deal with a fast-changing environment and the greater demand for quality employees.
Part of this department is also the Health & Safety Department, which ensures that the business operates within the health and safety standards governed by Laws of the country.
Training Department – Continuously provides and develops programs for employees based on the needs of the organization.
Category Management, Merchandising and Sales Department
This department overlooks four areas of the supermarket operation.
- The management of the categories of products within the stores. This team is responsible for the approval of all products being sold to customers, and for aligning our offering to satisfy their ever-changing needs while driving sales and profit.
- The implementation and management of the store layout and décor, and developing all categories by providing the customer with a pleasant shopping environment where plan-o-grams and creative merchandising highlight their needs.
- An Internal Sales function ensuring that all products at the warehouses are available in the stores, thereby assisting the growth of sales for all categories at Massy Stores Supermarkets and Gourmet.
- Local Supplier interaction by liaising with and providing support to all local manufacturers and suppliers in order to develop and promote the relationship between themselves and Massy stores.
Responsible for preparing and creating financial statements, maintaining financial records and documents, preparing budgets, ensuring compliance to our processes and paying creditors/suppliers. This department is also responsible for ensuring the team members are paid on time.
This department holds the responsibility for sourcing all the products sold at our Stores in a timely and cost effective manner. The team works with suppliers globally and locally all geared to provide customers’ value for their money in a manner profitable to our company. We also collaborate with other departments such as Marketing on promotions and Warehousing and Sales to ensure the stores are always well stocked. In short, Purchasing works diligently to source the right product at the right price, in the right place in the best quality to the satisfaction of Massy Stores and our valued customers.
Business Systems & IT Department- This department is responsible for finding new ways to improve business processes, deliver applications for the business, and implement governance for the use of technology and price integrity. This department enables the company’s employees to communicate, collaborate and automate routine task. The department is broken into 3 main areas
- I.T.- Is responsible for the technical Enterprise Resource Management and Communication
- Business Systems- Provides Data Management and Price Integrity
- Data- Focuses on Business reporting
Marketing, Customer Service & Corporate Communications Department
The objective of this department is to package the experience and value of shopping with all Massy brands. It is also responsible for executing the marketing plans for brands imported. Within this department, they are also responsible for all media communications on behalf of the business.
Customer Service Department – At its core plays an important role in facilitating the execution of great service, ensuring that our customers feel valued treated fairly and appreciated by our company.
Consumer Finance Department
The Consumer Finance Department works directly with customers through the review of loan applications submitted and the approval of loans. Financing is done through an array of appliances and consumer goods. In addition, this department is responsible for collection duties and assist customers in an effective payment plan and financial guidance. While the Consumer Finance department is, but not limited to approval of loans and collections, they also assist in the overall customer experience since responsibility lies in maintaining and providing regular contact and assistance to our customers. This makes a positive borrowing experience that guarantees customer satisfaction and return.
The role of this department is to identify the risk areas within the company and how the company and its stakeholders can be protected by ensuring policies and procedures are followed. This department also has the responsibility to ensure that the policies and procedures that govern the organization exist, are adhered to and are up to date. More importantly, to ensure that operations are within good corporate governance.
Massy Stores Home is the latest addition to the Massy Stores (SLU) family. The standalone store has two (2) locations, one towards the north of the island in Sunny Acres, Castries and one in the south in La-Tourney, Vieux Fort. Additionally, there is a Home Goods department ‘within’ Massy Stores Mega, Choc. These locations all provide a wide variety of Consumer Electronics, Furniture, Home Décor, House Wares, Small and Large Appliances, bed and bath and Exercise Equipment. Hire purchase is available, with Free Delivery Island wide. In addition, you can earn points with your Massy Card. Therese are just some of the many benefits of shopping at Massy Stores Home.
Massy Stores has two major warehousing locations with sole responsibility of receiving and de-stuffing of containers, storage of goods, and distribution of goods to Massy Locations Island wide.
Loss Prevention Department
This department plays a critical role in providing security and ensuring safety to both customers and employees within organization. Their critical tools will include the regulation of internal and external security, maintenance of security cameras and its related hardware/software components, inclusive of CCTV monitoring. This department also works closely with law enforcement to arrest and prosecute suspected shoplifters and dishonest employees.
