Massy Stores SLU provides Relief to neighboring Islands affected by Hurricane Beryl!
Monday July 22, Castries, St. Lucia, Massy Stores, has responded to the needs of its neighbours in Grenada and sister isle Carriacou, who have suffered the ill-effects of Hurricane Beryl a few weeks ago. When the category 4 hurricane struck the islands on July 1st it had a significant impact including the loss of life and considerable damage to homes and physical infrastructure.
The team at Massy Stores St. Lucia jumped straight into mobilization mode and on July 2nd, a twenty-foot container was dispatched from St. Lucia, destined for the islands. This shipment included groceries and other essential items to provide immediate assistance to those most affected by the hurricane. According to Massy Stores, St. Lucia Managing Director – Martin Dorville, “This effort is very well aligned to the company’s vision of corporate social responsibility. We value people and in times like these it is our responsibility to lend support in whatever way we can. Our region is under threat by natural disasters, and it is imperative that we be our brothers’ and sisters’ keeper”.
This gesture was supported by a financial contribution from Republic Bank (EC) Limited and facilitated by Joseph’s Shipping. With an active hurricane season predicted this year, we therefore encourage businesses and individuals alike, to take whatever steps they can to minimize the effects which can be devastating.
