Doing Good is in our DNA
Good Deeds Day was observed in St. Lucia on Saturday April 2022, with activities in the heart of Castries designed to bring cheer to vulnerable groups and the less fortune.
Massy Stores St. Lucia was among those supporting the activity, which attracted much corporate sector interest.
Apart from contributions of clothing and personal care items for the event, Massy staff also volunteered their time to the activity. The company donated one hundred meals to the event, which were prepared at the Massy Stores Delis.
Martin Dorville, the company’s Managing Director was one of thirty-five (35) team members volunteering to Do Good. He was on hand with the Deli team assisting with the packaging of the meals.
“What resonates with me about Good Deeds Day is that small contributions add up. That principle made it very easy for me to sign up and support. I am happy to be with the Deli Team today helping the team to dish out the food. Ultimately, we can all help in one way or the other for those in need and I think I did a good job since my team did not fire me” said Mr. Dorville with a big smile.
Good Deeds Day is an International Day of Volunteering. It began 2007, with a mission to unite people from around the world in doing good deeds for others and the planet. The activity was organized by Do Nation St. Lucia, a local organization focused on serving areas in various ways.
