Supporting the Arts $5000 for St. Lucia Comedy Game Show
Massy Stores Saint Lucia is a proud sponsor and collaborator of the soon to be released television comedy series “Improvise This!”, a novel Saint Lucian game show comedy created by Drenia Frederick of Moyra Media and featuring young, talented actors and comedians from Saint Lucia. The five-episode Season One of “Improvise This!” is set to appeal to audiences’ young, old, far and wide with core St. Lucian actors, Shaquille Edmund (Shaqfucomedy), Brie -Ann Jeremie, Dane Jacobs, Anthony Willkie and host Kiedel Sonny.
The show is a creative positive response to two years of living in and through a pandemic as a new normal. Improvise this! It seeks to provide comical relief in a time of uncertainty, allowing the society to continue to connect with the experiences and events that gives us joy.
Besides Massy Store’s financial contribution of five thousand dollars ($5000) towards the production of the game show comedy, the company is delighted to also be part of and support the filming of the show. Viewers can expect to see scenes with planted actors done on location at several of Massy locations including the Sunny Acres supermarket and Massy Home Stores.
“Improvise This!” was written and directed by Drenia Frederick and developed in collaboration with Allbiz Limited, Moyra Media and Dramacan Talent House as part of a movement to create refreshing local content for Saint Lucians and the region to enjoy under the banner project, “Project C”.
Ms. Frederick says ““Project C” was created in the spirit of collaboration to push innovation, and creative content locally on the premise that Saint Lucia can compete and contribute to the global creative content market. Massy Stores Saint Lucia’s contribution and support for the development of the show is a clear indicator that there is a beautiful meld that can take place between the creative and commercial sector. As a company they understood the importance of supporting the development of new content and by extension the creative industries and this partnership forms part of their corporate social responsibility”.
Sariah Best-Joseph of Massy Stores says the company was happy to “facilitate and contribute to the development of the show and proud to be part of such an exciting project which highlights Saint Lucian talent and capacity. She says this partnership also provided a platform for Massy Stores “Go Green” (plastic reduction) Campaign to be reintroduced to Saint Lucian audiences creatively.
“Improvise this!” is set to launch mid-March and will feature on several local television stations weekly and Digicel’s PlayGo App.
