Massy St. LuciaThey continue to represent well musically, with great talent and very well organized shows. That’s one of the reasons why Massy Stores continues to sponsor the South Calypso Tent. On Tuesday May 22nd the tent received a cheque of two thousand dollars (EC $2000) from the supermarket chain which has been a long time partner and sponsor.

In congratulating the tent on its 20th anniversary, Assistant Store Manager Wanita Eugene was full of praise for the tent’s high level of accountability to sponsors for funds provided annually.

South Tent goes into high gear with the first show for the season slated for Friday June 1st at the National Cultural Center, under the theme “20 blessed with plenty”.

For his part Tent Manager Tony Wilkinson was elated by Massy Stores continued commitment to the tent and by extension the calypso art form.

“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Massy Stores for your consistent sponsorship contributions which started since you were Super J IGA and have continued to Massy Stores. We are very fortunate and thankful to have you as a partner and will continue to do our utmost best to prove worthy of your sponsorship,” said Wilkinson.

Patrons attending the show will receive prizes of Massy Stores umbrellas and reusable shopping bags. These will come in handy as the island approaches the rainy season and as Massy stores encourages its customers to switch to reusable bags, instead of single use plastic shopping bags.
