Sariah Best Joseph presents tent to team, coaches and parents. Last month Massy Stores Mega donated a tent to the Rockets Athletics Club. The tent will be used by the sports club for its twice weekly training activities at the Vigie Beach and during their competitive events. It’s a small gesture, but one which the club’s Founder and Head Coach Martial Charley says will have a big impact.

“We have found a great ally in Massy Stores. Whether it be water, juices, fruit or granola bars for sports meets, food contributions to our fund raising events or trophies for our awards and recognition ceremonies the company is always willing to support us and help us defray expenses associated with our activities. We needed a tent and started fundraising. When Massy Stores heard about this, the company came to our aid with this much needed gift” says the Coach.

Rockets team training at Vigie Beach The Rockets Athletics Club is a relatively young athletics club, with a great track record thus far and some big ambitions.  The club started in 2004 with just about twenty (20) athletes and has grown to 65 in the last 13 years, covering primary and secondary schools on island.

Rockets is focussed on the holistic development of athletes who range in age from 6-19 years old. Coach Charlery notes the team’s successes over the years with ten (10) of its athletes representing St. Lucia at various levels over the years. In fact twelve (12) team members have won the Victor and Victrix Ludorum titles at their schools sports, this year alone. The club has big dreams and hopes to mold athletes who can someday participate in the Olympics and the World Championship games.
