Massy Stores (SLU) Ltd. is encouraging its customers to make contributions to the hurricane disaster relief efforts. This Friday and Saturday (September 29 and 30)  the eleven Massy Stores locations on island will operate as  drop off points for customers wishing to donate to the effort.

The company itself has already donated over EC $100,000 so far in response to the devastation caused to Caribbean islands by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.  The retail chain’s contributions have come in the form of grocery, non-food and non-perishable items. The relief supplies have been submitted to the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO). There was an initial response to the destruction caused by Hurricane Irma to islands like Barbuda and subsequent contributions to relief efforts after Hurricane Maria hit Dominica hard last Monday.

Massy Stores customers and other private sector entities are being urged to give generously to the relief efforts as the situation particularly in Dominica has become desperate, with all sectors on the island disabled by the winds and rains of a Category Five Hurricane Maria.

Massy Stores Volunteers will mann the collection posts on Friday and Saturday and all items collected will be delivered to NEMO thereafter.
